Our Goal
First off, Thank you Mike and Kathryn for your kind word of encouragement, testimony and love. I believe we have all grown, for the better, because of this production because we have grown closer to Christ. My whole goal throughout this production focused on two thoughts.
Mary's line in 2.4: If you follow Him, and REMEMBER HIM, you will always have Him near.
And, a scripture I heard more than once yesterday, {Doctrine & Covenants 1:19-23}: The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man should not counsel his fellow man, neither trust in the arm of flesh--- But that every man might speak in the name of God the Lord, even the Savior of the World; That faith also might increase in the earth; that mine everlasting covenant might be established; That the fulness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world before kings and rulers.
Yes, this is a musical production. And yes, we all want to do our best so it doesn't fail. However, neither of those is our primary goal. Our primary goal is, and should always be, to speak the name of the Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ. My whole goal I've said from the beginning, is to help all involved (cast, crew, audience) to REMEMBER HIM! He is the way to Salvation and Eternal Life. Sometimes I feel like one of those 'weak things,' but it helps to to know that the weak things can break down the strong IF they are following the Lord.
I do my best to always have His spirit welcome in our rehearsals; I want it to permeate EVERYTHING we do regarding the production because THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT! The Holy Ghost needs to be present in order to testify of the Savior. And, I'm sorry for those moments where I forgot. As we come to the end of our production together, as long as we remember WHY and WHO we are doing this for, everything will work out. I know that's why all our production problems have had solutions. I know that is why we feel the spirit often and why so many people are interested in this play. They are interested because they've heard it before; they may not remember, but that's why we are doing this--- to HELP THEM REMEMBER!
So, feel of His spirit today--- as you watch/listen to {conference} and remember "Him who redeemed us."
I love you all, dearly.
With that said, rehearsal schedule for this week is UP on the blog----see above
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE--- EVERYONE COME TO THE REST OF REHEARSALS!!! WE NEED YOU!!!!

Rehearsal: March 24th & 26th
Here's what I ask: since we have to strike (take down) the set after every rehearsal, I ask that we move our start time to 6:00 PM on Thursdays and 8:45 AM on Saturdays. This way we have time to put in all together and hopefully, get started with our actual rehearsing by (the latest) 6:30.
I expect EVERYONE to attend rehearsals starting SATURDAY MARCH 26th. THIS SATURDAY! That's our costume fitting, and the day I have set aside to add choir into the background.
Here's what we're working on this week:
Thursday, March 24th, 6-9pm:
Opening (Scene 1.1-1.3) and Closing (2.5-3.2) segments of the show. I need as much of the cast there as possible--- if you have possible resurrected extras (because our old REs are really Choir members) for scene 1.3. BRING THEM THURSDAY!
Saturday, March 16th, 9am-130pm (depending):
9-10: Choir Rehearsal
10-when we finish: add choir into scenes, find costumes--everyone needs to come!!!, and watch SOTW dvd.
12-when finished: Individual Solo Rehearsal for #25, maybe #36
Thanks everyone!

CHANGE in TOMORROW'S Rehearsal
It came to my attention last night that, even though I switched the rehearsals for yesterday and tomorrow, a lot of people didn't realize it until they got there and saw the confused look on my face as to why you were there. We're now a month into the production and, I don't know if y'all noticed, but I like to use email as my biggest form of communication, texting being my second. (I dropped the texting ball yesterday and forgot to send that one out--sorry).
Honestly, with two toddler kiddos, I would have a hard time calling everyone to remind them about rehearsal; we have a rather large cast and I need to use the little extra time I have to not work on this magnificent production, taking care of my family.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check your email and/or the blog to MAKE SURE YOU KNOW if and when you need to come to rehearsal. The schedule will continue to get moved around as we adjust for absences in previous (and upcoming because of Spring Break) rehearsals--- so IT IS IMPERATIVE that you CHECK THE BLOG and/or YOUR EMAIL! Thanks for reading my rant; I'm off my soapbox now.
Since attendance has been sparse at some rehearsals, this is what I expect for tomorrow (please be on time)---it was hard to start on time yesterday when we have a lot of characters in the scene.
This has changed since the beginning of the week, so pay attention ;)
9:00am-9:45 am
Scene 2.3: James, John, Peter, Cleopas, Disciple, Savior, Andrew, Matthew, Thaddeus, Phillip, James Alphaeus, Simon Zelotes, Nathanael, Disciple 1, Disciple 2, Disciple 3
10:00-11:00 am
Scene 2.5: James, Thomas, John, Peter, The Savior, Andrew, Matthew, Thaddeus, Phillip, James Alphaeus, Simon Zelotes, Nathanael
11:00am- 12:00pm
Finish Scene 1.2 & 2.2: Disciple and Cleopas
12:15- 2:00pm
The REST of 3.2--- CLOSING OF THE SHOW----EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE THERE
A couple things to bring to your attention:
- Remember, we now have rehearsal on Wednesday, March 16th from 6-9 in the Cultural Hall. I'd like to finish the closing of the show, start the OPENING, and rework 2.1.
- If you CANNOT make a rehearsal PLEASE let me know before I miss your lovely presence at the actual rehearsal--- we only have NINE rehearsals left until we perform for an audience!
- SHOES: You will be responsible for the shoes to wear with your costume. In the email, I attached a document that has what styles would be approved, if you have a question--- ASK ME! I'm pretty approachable! ;) The good thing is these styles are pretty popular now, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding some. Chorus, you don't need shoes unless you're an extra in scenes 2.1 and 2.4.
- STAGE and TECH HELP: WE NEED EXTRA HELP. If you know anyone who would like to work with Costumes, Lighting, Sound, Makeup & Hair, Stage Crew, Set & Advertising.... PLEASE GIVE THEM THIS EMAIL ADDRESS or GIVE ME THEIR NAMES and CONTACT INFO!
- EXTRAS: I need a bunch more people to help out by being resurrected beings in scene 1.3. We'll use the choir as extras, but I need more bodies to create the effect. Just like the stage/tech help, if you know anyone that's interested, please give them this email to contact me ASAP! We can use ALL AGES!
